“When The Fire Came” is the first Single and Video from our upcoming full-length album, “Beneath The Flowers.”
The song uses fire as a metaphor for starting over. It explores themes of identity and loss. The video is a dream. It references my former career as a fashion photographer in Toronto, and my internal struggles, before moving out to the rural country in BC. I think I make videos a lot like I write songs. I start from a place of subconscious free-flow and then try to piece together the mess of ideas that spill-out in to something somewhat cohesive. ABOUT
Deer On Fire is a folk/punk indie rock band from Lake Country, BC led by singer/songwriter, Mike Lewis. They released their first EP, Campground, in 2025 and signed with Firefolk Records to release their first full-length album, Beneath The Flowers, in early 2027.
